This Practical Guide to Operational Decarbonisation supports lighting companies in structuring and advancing their net-zero trajectories, offering practical tips and actionable measures.  

The guide provides structured, step-by-step guidance based on the classification of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. These three “Scopes” cover direct operations (Scope 1), purchased electricity, steam and cooling (Scope 2), and the wider value chain (Scope 3). 

Each category can be addressed through concrete and practical measures - from improving energy efficiency in operations and sourcing renewable electricity, to engaging suppliers and optimising product life cycles.  

A selection of key best practices is highlighted to help organisations move from ambition to implementation.
